How is Bachelor’s in Architecture different from Bachelor of Technology with Civil Engineering
Both the B. Arch and B. Tech Civil have the same tactics and follow the same course structure. Several students may get confused with the difference between B. Tech Civil Engineering and B. Arch. Not only do they both have a similar course structure, but they also have the same career opportunities. The Only difference is the job role.
Profiling between B. Arch and B. Tech
B. Tech civil gives the study of the entire process of the product development and overall structural study from designing the model to the constructed delivery, which allow include the maintenance too. But on the other hand, B. Arch’s course structure is sketched to study the phase of the development. B. Arch is well descriptive and elaborated from the beginning of the product to the delivery.
Duration and Durability
The course duration of civil engineering is 4 years followed by 2 years is masters. And Bachelors in Arch. is a 5-year course and master’s in architecture is 2 years. Both the courses are degree programs. Whereas both the courses also have diploma programs too. You can choose civil Engineering by picking polytechnic courses after 10th. Polytechnic In civil is of the 3-year diploma program. Which gives a brief understanding of the construction and architecture of the establishment. And diploma in architecture is 6 months or 1-year certification for the confirmation of the entry-level jobs which are likely to be as the apprentice or records handlers.
B. Tech provides the overall introduction to all the streams for one year than from the second year you will be addressing towards the main course curriculum. But in B. Arch you will understand the structure and design from the beginning phase. Both the courses are semester-wise programs. Each semester contains 6 main subjects along with 2 additional subjects as per the university board's norms.
Subjects in B. Tech 1st year are same for all the streams which are basics in Electrical, Mechanical, Electronics, Civil and Computer Science. These common subjects will give you a brief understanding of the methodology of engineering structure. About Architecture course the technicality is almost the same as the engineering program. B. Arch will provide the study of the design and structure of construction.
Jobs Opportunity Overview
Civil Engineers get opportunities in the jobs like structure engineer, Site Engineer, GeoTechnical engineer, Planning Engineer, quantity engineer, and billing engineer, etc. with a good starting salary. And Architecture draftsman, interior designer, landscape Architect, and Data analyst are the opportunity which Architect gets.
Overview between Architect and Engineer
The basic difference between the architect and engineer is that they are particularly defined by their work and role in the fields. Engineer works on the projects like road, building, bridges, etc whereas architects work in the fields like designing a luxurious interior. An architect also works in jobs like estimating the cost of the projects, define the requirements for the projects. And on the other hand, engineers provide the risk analysis of the projects.
How to Apply
There are very good scops for the study in Delhi NCR areas. There are several best architecture colleges in NCR. To apply for the Civil Engineering opt for entrance exams like JEE mains, JEE advance, and UPSEE. By getting a good rank in these exams you can get selected for the good colleges offering b arch. And for B. Arch there are exams like the Architecture Aptitude test, NATA, and COMEDK UGET.
To apply to these programs you must be 12th passed with the science streams and with 60% in all the major subjects. Several architecture colleges in delhi have their own entrance exam and have the eligibility criteria of more than 70% in 12th with science streams. A major role is to provide a good understanding and logical rightness.
The Best Choice
Both the courses are a good choice for the option after the 12th. Rather the question is more dependent on the candidate who is going to apply for the courses. If you are more interested in the development and construction of a project then you should opt for the Civil engineering courses. And if you have the skills related to the designing and interactive approaches towards any projects then you should apply for Bachelor in Architecture.
